Publication Opportunity
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Take the following points into consideration when submitting your work for publication:
- This Call for Papers introduces several Publication windows, including Conference Proceedings, indexed journals, and Monograph publication. It is crucial that you select ONLY ONE of these Publication opportunities. Submitting your work simultaneously to multiple publications can potentially result in copyright violations or disputes if the work is published in different places.
- To ensure that your paper is accepted and published successfully, it is important to carefully check the scope of each publication opportunity and select the ONE that best matches the theme of your paper.
- It is also essential that you strictly follow the submission guide for each publication opportunity. This will help ensure that your submission is complete, meets the required standards, and is assessed fairly according to the guidelines of the chosen publication opportunity.
Conference Proceedings
Deadline: 21 June 2025
The Conference Proceedings will be published with an ISSN Number. To ensure the quality and validity of the proceedings, all full papers submitted for conference proceedings will undergo a double-blind review process. Upon acceptance, these papers will be published electronically in the proceedings with a unique DOI number. This ensures that each paper is assigned a persistent identifier that can be used for citation and tracking purposes.
ISSN 3030-1548 (Online)
To submit your paper for proceedings publication, prepare your paper according to the provided template. This will ensure that your submission adheres to the necessary formatting and style requirements, and is ready for the review process.
Peer-Reviewed Journal Publication
Important NOTE before Journal Submission:
- Carefully read the Scope of the selected journal before submission, otherwise your paper will be rejected without a review process.
- The decision of whether or not the submission can be included in the journal publication remains at the full discretion of the journal editors and is subject to the results of the double-blind peer review and the satisfactory completion of any revisions required.
- If you select a journal with a Direct Submission Link, include a note to the Editorial Board with information about the conference and the Organizer.

Open Cultural Studies is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal that explores the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts. It interprets culture in an inclusive sense, in different theoretical, geographical and historical contexts. The journal promotes new research perspectives in cultural studies, but it also seeks to map out social and political scholarship that places questions of inequalities and imbalances of power at the heart of academic debate.

We draw particular attention to the importance of carefully preparing the title, keywords and abstract, as these elements are indicators of the manuscript content in bibliographic databases and search engines.
Title: We suggest the title should be informative, specific to the project, yet concise (75 characters or fewer). Please bear in mind that a title that is comprehensible to a broad academic audience and readers outside your field will attract a wider readership. Avoid specialist abbreviations and non-standard acronyms. Titles should not be presented in title case (words should not be capitalized). Please also provide a brief “running title” of not more than 50 characters.
Authors: Manuscripts should be prepared for double-blind review.
Abstract: The abstract should not exceed 200 words. The abstract should give a summary of the content of the paper. Mention the main findings without going into methodological detail and summarize briefly the most important items of the paper. Because the abstract will be published separately by abstracting services, it must be complete and understandable without reference to the text.
Keywords: List keywords for the work presented (maximum of 5), separated by commas. We suggest that keywords do not replicate those used in the title.
Acknowledgments: This section should describe recognition of personal assistance: people who contributed to the work, but do not fit the criteria for authors should be listed along with their contributions. You must ensure that anyone named in the acknowledgments agrees to being so named.
Abbreviations: Please use standard abbreviations. Ensure consistency of abbreviations throughout the article. Non-standard abbreviations should not be used unless they appear at least three times in the text. List all abbreviations, acronyms and symbols in alphabetical order, along with their expanded form, at the end of the text. Define them as well upon first use in the text.
Author’s Statements: This section should describe:
- any funding information, including the role of the study sponsor(s), if any, in study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, writing the paper and decision to submit it for publication;
- authors contribution – if required;
- conflict of interest;
- Data Availability Statement (if applicable).
References: We use the APA 7th Edition formatting style sheet for in-text citations and Works Cited list
Manuscripts should be submitted to the journal via online submission system Editorial Manager available for this journal at https://www.editorialmanager.com/culture/default.aspx. In case of problems, contact the Editorial Office of this journal at Katarzyna.Tempczyk@degruyter.com.
